The Sanyo Katana DLX is by far one of the best cellular phones on the market today. While the Sanyo Katana may seem strikingly similar to the original Katana, on the inside it’s a completely different phone, packed with more features than any other phone in the Katana family.
Physically, the Katana DLX is stunning. The Platinum Ice, Pink Satin and Champagne color choices are elegant and the radial finish is absolutely stunning. The phone also opens to a unique and ideal ergonomic talking position.
The advanced technology that the Katana DLX offers users includes a microSD memory that can hold up to 4GB. With a single touch, the user can access his or her personal email accounts, as well as keep in touch with friends and family over several different instant messenger programs. It even plays music, either MP3/AAC/AAC+ files over stereo Bluetooth.
The screen is also improved with this generation of Katana, the 2 inch TFT QVGA LCD main display has 260K colors. New In Plane Switching (IPS) allows the owner to view wide angles with superior contrast and brightness.
The Katana DLX has a 1.3 megapixel camera with digital zoom that supports PictBridge and can come with a USB cable. The camera is capable of taking more than just still shots, however. One can record 120 minute videos on the microSD card that is included with the cell phone.
The cellular battery now lasts longer, and the standard battery will last up to 4 hours of talking time. With an optional extended battery added, the talk time increases to 6 hours. That kind of power is impressive, particularly when one takes into account that the phone only weighs 3.5 ounces and is 0.6 inches thick.
